About

Built from 20 Years
of Fixing What
Wasn't Working.

I've spent most of my career in the unglamorous parts of Data and AI — fixing pipelines, clearing technical debt, wrestling with systems that were never designed for the Agentic Era. Most of that time was in Pharma, Consulting, and regulated industries, where the cost of getting governance wrong is measured in patient outcomes and regulatory exposure, not just slide decks.

"The leaders I've seen succeed in enterprise AI stopped pretending they could build something perfect, and started designing for the mess intentionally. That's the origin of the 7P Compass™."

The Architecture Was Built in the Field

The Foundation Years
Data Engineering at Scale
Starting in the infrastructure layer — pipelines, data quality, lineage, and the systems nobody wants to think about until they break. The lesson: governance isn't a layer you add at the end. It's the foundation.
The Pharma & Regulated Industries Chapter
When Governance Isn't Optional
Regulated industries made the stakes concrete. A model with governance gaps doesn't just miss a metric — it affects a patient outcome, creates a regulatory exposure, or fails an audit. The 7P Compass™ Principles pillar was built here.
The Enterprise AI Era
Watching the Frankenstein Stitch Appear
Organisation after organisation trying to bolt AI onto legacy systems. Cloud tools stitched to on-premise databases stitched to newly deployed agents — with governance that never reached past the policy deck into the delivery team.
The Agentic Era
Building the Architecture That Was Missing
The 7P Compass™ system emerged from a simple observation: organisations had governance standards (NIST) but no initiative-level decision framework, and no delivery model for the teams doing the actual work. Two of the three layers were absent.

On the Frankenstein Stitch

Every enterprise AI landscape I've worked in looks like a Frankenstein Stitch — legacy platforms, cloud tools, and AI agents held together by undocumented workarounds and the memory of people who've since left. The organisations that succeed aren't the ones that build something clean. They're the ones that design for the mess intentionally.

On the Governance Gap

NIST AI RMF is genuinely good. It sets the right organisational boundaries. What it doesn't provide is the answer to: "Given these boundaries, how does this specific initiative make specific decisions?" That's the 7P Compass™. And "Given these decisions, how does the delivery team actually execute?" That's the 7P-DOM.

On CAA™ and the Digital Workforce

We manage human employees with performance standards, named line managers, and governed exits. We are deploying AI agents that make consequential decisions — in some cases affecting patients, customers, or financial outcomes — with none of that. CAA™ is workforce governance logic applied to the digital workforce.

Frameworks

The 7P Compass™ System

Four interconnected frameworks. One complete architecture for AI governance from board to delivery.

Layer 02 · Live
7P Compass™ Decision Framework
The initiative-level decision framework that translates enterprise governance into seven interdependent pillars. Published on LinkedIn and Substack.
Active Series
Operational Engine · All Layers
Continuous Agentic Assurance™ (CAA™)
The agent lifecycle governance system. Six stages: Commission → Onboard → Supervise → Develop → Review → Retire. Runs across all three governance layers.

Board-Level Diagnostic™
Five executive lenses. Twenty-five board questions. A maturity model from L1 to L5. The five decisions only boards can make on AI strategy, risk, return, capability, and the digital workforce.

Layer 03 · 2026
7P Delivery Operating Model (7P-DOM)
Four named roles, governance gates, rituals, and artefact libraries that operationalise the 7P Compass™ at delivery scale. Full specification publishing 2026.

Designed for Regulated and Complex Environments

💊
Pharma & Life Sciences
Where AI governance failures are measured in patient safety, regulatory exposure, and clinical data integrity. The origin of the Principles pillar.
🏛️
Professional Services & Consulting
Where the architecture has been stress-tested across multiple client environments, industry contexts, and governance maturity levels.
🔒
Regulated Industries (Broadly)
The 7P Compass™ system was built for environments where governance cannot be an afterthought — financial services, healthcare, government, and utilities.
